On Thursday, July 7, John Macharia Gathaiya, a resident of the BTL area, reported discovering a rifle hidden in the bush while clearing bushes on his farm.
NPS officers from Ruiru rushed to the scene and discovered an AK 47 rifle with serial number KE KP 55266385 and a magazine loaded with 21 7.62 mm rounds.
Thika Crime Scene Investigators processed and documented the scene, and the rifle was handed over to the SCCIO Ruiru for further forensic investigation examination.
The area has been thoroughly searched, and no other recoveries have been made.
