Fired TV Anchor Starts Matatu tout Job

Robert Ouma, a former Switch TV news anchor who lost his position in December, has revealed that he is now working as a matatu tout to supplement his income.

Ouma was one of the anchors who was let go when Switch TV announced that they would cause broadcasting content on TV and sent many employees home.

In several videos on his Instagram page, he explained that sometimes it does not make an honest living.

Ouma is a tout in one of the PSVs plying the Rongai route and described himself the cleanest tout in town.

“An office is just a name, let’s work. Tout of the day. Rongai massive,” he said in one of his posts.

Despite the fact that she has ended up working as a tout, Ouma is still looking for work in the media field.

On December 10th, Switch TV made the transition from analog to digital transmission, signaling a fundamental shift in the company’s business approach.

The Kenya Red Cross Society’s media company declared that it would no longer broadcast live on the air.
