First Lady Rachel Ruto has urged Kenyans to dedicate the months of June and July to prayer and fasting for national unity, peace, forgiveness, and cohesion.
Speaking during the 3rd Women’s Convocation Prayer Breakfast Meeting, she encouraged the church, religious leaders, and citizens across the country to pray for the nation, emphasising that Kenyans must live in unity and solidarity, especially during the current political period.
“We don’t have another nation, and men and women of God, we have to continue praying for our nation. As we know, the enemy is within. And as a mother of this nation, let me request Kenyans to continue praying. I know we have been praying, but these months of June and July are very key. Let us not get tired,” she said.
Nominated Senator Veronica Maina who was also in the meeting said, “A woman will not give up today. We will not give up in our families, in our lives, in our homes, and in our nation.”
The remarks by the First Lady come as the country prepares for the National Prayer Breakfast under the theme: Forgiveness and Reconciliation.
“Such gatherings remind us of the important role of prayer in shaping our nation. We must continue praying for unity, peace, wisdom in leadership, and hope for future generations,” Rachel added.
