Five Arrested, Government Stores Recovered in Kajiado County

By Michelle Ndaga

Kajiado County police have arrested five suspects and recovered government stores in a successful operation conducted near the PEFA Church in Ongata Rongai.

According to authorities, officers from Ongata Rongai Police Station were on routine patrol yesterday when they intercepted two suspicious middle-aged men.

A search revealed a pair of handcuffs hidden in one suspect’s jacket pocket. The second man attempted to flee but was captured after a brief chase.

During interrogation, the suspects claimed they had obtained the items from a third party and led police to the Kware area. A search of the identified premises uncovered four spent cartridges and a police baton.

Three additional suspects found at the scene were arrested, bringing the total number of apprehensions to five.

The recovered items have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue. Police say the operation underscores the importance of removing potentially dangerous equipment from circulation to prevent violent crimes.

The National Police Service has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies to help maintain law and order.
