FKF Sends Appeal to Kenyans After U20 Rising Starlets Captain Goes Missing

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has made an appeal to Kenyans who may have any information on the whereabouts of a missing National Women’s Under 20 Team-Rising Starlets-player Jane Hato.

FKF in a notice on Thursday, August 15, 2024, called on Kenyans to help find Hato, who is the U20 Rising Starlets captain.

The governing body explained that the player was declared missing after she failed to join her team for their planned journey to Ethiopia.

Jane Hato, a Kenya Police Bullets Football Club player, did not arrive at the designated meeting point, with FKF stating that her current whereabouts remain unknown.

“The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has been made aware of the concerning situation involving Jane Hato, the captain of the Kenya u20 Women’s National team and a player for Kenya Police Bullets fc,” said FKF.

“Jane was expected to join her team for their journey to Ethiopia for the CAF women’s champions league zonal qualifiers. However, she did not arrive at the designated meeting point, and her current whereabouts are unknown.”

The governing body made an appeal to anyone who might have information that could assist in locating Jane to come forward and contact the nearest police station, or other contact persons listed.

FKF also listed the contacts of Jane’s family (Ann Alouch-0710 322 573), and an official at the governing body (Jectan-0727 382 466) to be used for sharing information on her whereabouts.

On their part, National Women’s football team Harambee Starlets echoed the appeal urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of U20 Rising Starlets captain to contact the parties listed by FKF.

Jane joined Kenya Police Bullets this year after a brief stint for Mathare United Women FC, a club she joined in January 2024 having left Madira Soccer Assassins FC which she helped gain promotion to the Women’s Premier League.

According to Kenya Police Bullets FC, the player went missing on Wednesday, August 14.

“We regret to inform the public that Jane Hato a player on our team, has been reported missing since yesterday. We were initially hopeful that it was a minor delay, but the situation has now become serious,” the football club stated.
