Florence Muturi Appointed New LSK CEO

She was chosen from a list of ten applicants in what the LSK Council describes as a transparent and competitive process.

Florence Wairimu Muturi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of Kenya, succeeding Mercy Wambua.

Wambua, along with former LSK president Nelson Havi, left office in January 2022.

Wairimu served as the LSK’s acting Secretary/CEO since her appointment in January 2022.

She is a High Court of Kenya Advocate with more than fifteen years of experience, having been admitted to the Bar on July 20, 2006.

She was chosen from a list of ten applicants in what the LSK Council describes as a transparent and competitive process.

She will serve for a period of three years with effect from June 2022.

LSK President Eric Theuri said her tenure is renewable once upon satisfactory performance.

“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in leadership and management,” Theuri said.

Wairimu has a Bachelor of Laws from Moi University, as well as a Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a certified Public Secretary.

Since 2012, she has worked for the Law Society of Kenya as a Program Officer in charge of the Compliance and Ethics Department, and since 2016, she has served as the Deputy Secretary/CEO.
