Joyce Mbali is counting loses after she was conned by a Sierra Leone man who she met through a popular online dating. – By John Mutiso.
According to DCI detectives, the two met virtually on popular Dating site Badoo and after chatting for a few days, they decided to meet physically.
The man picked up the lady in his vehicle at Marurui Petrol Station and started driving towards Kahawa West. However, things changed along the way when the suspect turned against the lady and robbed her off her valuables including a phone worth Sh25,000 and then dumped her.
Joyce reported the matter to the relevant authorities and the detectives immediately went on looking for the suspect where they trailed and arrested him yesterday.
“Detectives immediately went on the suspect’s trail and arrested him yesterday. He was found to be a foreigner from Sierra Leone, but did not have proper documentation.” The DCI tweeted.
The suspect was arraigned in court on Thursday and is currently remanded at the Industrial Area prison.
