Form 4 Student Losses Testicle After Teachers’ Beating

A Form Four student at Nyabisia secondary school in Nyamache sub-county, Kisii County has lost one of his testicles after allegedly being brutally punished by his teachers.

The student lost his testicle after being injured during a corporal punishment from his teachers on Saturday evening after being caught cheating on his exams.

During a Business paper exam, the candidate was in possession of scribbled notes when the invigilator, a mathematics teacher, hauled him into the office where he, three other teachers, and a guard brutalised him, resulting in the scrotal injury.

He was taken to Ogembo Hospital and later referred to Hema Level 5 hospital for minor surgery to remove the damaged testicle.

Doctors who treated him stated that the testicle had been severely ruptured during the flogging, necessitating its removal.

“I admit my mistake of cheating in the exams, I was caught by our Maths teacher, whisked out to the staff room and all the teachers who were present started beating me using electric cables, kicks, and blows they almost killed me,” narrated the student.

He claimed that the teachers tied him to the office table with a rope while beating him up.

While in class, he began bleeding profusely from his testicle and penis, prompting the teachers to seek medical attention.

Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kasses stated that investigations have also begun.

“We have launched investigation and already sent our officers to finalize investigations,” Said Kasses.

According to Kasses, police officers were deployed to make arrests of the said teachers.
