Kisumu County DCI officers are investigating the gruesome murder of a form three student whose lifeless body was discovered last evening in a rice field in Kanyagwal, Kadibo sub-county.
The body was found in a rice field irrigation canal, with multiple injuries to the neck, head, and left thigh. Her tongue was out of her mouth, blood oozing from her ears, and foam oozing from her mouth.
The deceased, 18, went missing on Monday night after leaving to make a phone call at around 10 p.m. and failing to return.
According to a police report, after dinner, the form three student at a nearby secondary school received an unknown phone call, prompting her to leave the house.
According to police, when the deceased mother awoke to clean the house, she noticed her daughter was missing and her school bag was still inside the house.
Last evening at 3 p.m., the family was informed by herders that they had found a body dumped in the rice fields that had been positively identified as their kin.
DCI officers from Nyando and their Kisumu counterparts from the scene of crime visited the scene and later took the body to the Ahero sub-county hospital mortuary as the investigation to identify her killers starts.
