Businessman and politician Dennis Mutegi Mbae is dead.
According to witnesses, Mutegi, who had vied for Kirimari ward MCA seat in 2017 using the Maendeleo Chap Chap party, was shot by unknown assailants who sprayed his Toyota Alphard car with 14 bullets leaving him in a pool of blood.
Good Samaritans rushed the businessman to Embu Level 5 Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Though the motive behind his killing remains unclear, the aspirant has not been without scandals.
In 2018 he was arrested for allegedly trafficking bhang worth 290,000. However, he denied the charges and was released on a Ksh. 300,000 bond.
Police officers are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the murder that occurred near Bonanza, Embu.
