Former Atletico Madrid star Eduardo Salvio is on the run from police after reportedly running over his ex-wife.
Argentinian store The 31-year-old, who has 14 caps for Argentina, is accused of driving his car at former partner Magali Aravena, according to Ole.
Salvio is seen sensationally driving away from police, who have pledged he ‘will not escape’ in dramatic footage posted to social media.
Salvio now plays for Boca Juniors in Argentina’s Primera Division, and has previously played for Atletico Madrid and Benfica in Portugal.
Aravena and Salvio recently split up after 10 years of marriage which gave them two children.
Buenos Aires police have opened an investigation after the 35-year-old reported an incident in the early hours of Thursday morning, in which Salvio allegedly drove his car towards Aravena in the Puerto Madero neighbourhood.
A source close to the investigation stated: ‘Prosecutors are working to collect evidence. Salvio won’t escape from the police. They have learned about what happened from the report his wife made.’
A police spokesman said: ‘The woman went over to speak with her husband, who was in his car with another woman. The suspect drove forward, and struck Mrs Aravena.’
