A passionate advocate for Africa’s digital economy, Kiptum played a pivotal role in expanding Flutterwave’s operations across East Africa before stepping down in June 2025 to focus on his health and personal journey. In a reflective LinkedIn post at the time, he spoke of his decision as a blend of professional closure and the need to prioritize well-being.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Kiptum served as a Board Member of the Association of Fintechs in Kenya (AFIK), where he chaired the Marketing, Membership & Partnerships Committee. His leadership strengthened industry cohesion, broadened membership engagement, and bolstered fintech advocacy.

He also co-founded Rigour Africa and CDI Africa, platforms dedicated to executive coaching and leadership development. As a certified coach, he was deeply committed to helping professionals navigate transitions, grow in leadership, and align ambition with purpose.

A prolific thought leader, Kiptum often shared insights on innovation, digital transformation, and the evolving landscape of finance in Africa through his online writings and speaking engagements.

He is survived by his three children, two sons and a daughter, whom he often described as his greatest inspiration.
