The latest appointment made by President William Ruto to state agencies on Friday returns former Nairobi City County boss, Evans Kidero to government.
In a Gazette Notice dated November 15, 2024, President Ruto named Kidero as Chairperson of the Kenya National Trading Corporation Board of Directors.
He will serve for three years beginning on the day of his appointment. The president also revoked Hussein Tene Debasso’s appointment.
The president also appointed Anab Mohamed Gure to be a member of the Nairobi Rivers Commission. The appointment also took effect immediately. Gure will serve a term of three years.
Gure’s nomination follows the President’s revocation of Millicent Omanga’s appointment to the commission after she declined the job offer.
The President also appointed Mark Kosgei Chesergon as Chairperson of the Kerio Valley Development Authority’s Board of Directors. Chesergon will serve for three years.
Wenwa Akinyi Oranga has been appointed Chairperson of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, a position she will hold for three years beginning on the day of appointment.
Thuo Mathenge was appointed the Chairperson of the Board of Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization. He will serve for three (3) years, with effect from November 15, 2024.
Ruto consequently revoked the appointment of Peter Weru Kinyua.
Teobald Mukundu Wambugu was appointed the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tana Water Works Development Agency, with effect from November 15, 2024, up to July 4, 2025. The appointment of James Gathaka Wanyaga was revoked.
Nuh Nassir Abdi was named the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre. He will serve for three (3) years, effective from the date of appointment.
Ruto at the same time revoked the appointment of Victor Kioko Munyaka.
Mark Lomunokol was named the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Sports Kenya. He will serve for three years, effective immediately.
