Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday paid a visit to the home of the late former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha to condole with the family.
Uhuru arrived at the family’s home in Lavington at around 2.30 pm alongside the former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and a host of Cabinet Secretaries.
They later appended their signatures to the condolence book in the presence of family members and friends.
Former Interior CS Fred Matiangi, Ukur Yattani (Treasury), Eugene Wamalwa (Defence), Joe Mucheru (ICT), and former Interior PS Karanja Kibicho flanked the ex-president.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka had earlier arrived at the home where he also condoled the family.
The former Head of State had previously instructed his former cabinet to attend Prof. Magoha’s burial at his home in Gem, Yala, Siaya County.
He had also directed that a committee be formed to assist with burial preparations, led by former Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i and Raphael Tuju.
This is despite the fact that the current government has also appointed ICT CS Eliud Owalo, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Chief of Staff George McGoye to assist in the same.
