Former Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has landed a new job as Vice President at Fauna & Flora International (FFI).
His appointment comes a few days after he handed over his position to Peninah Malonza who was appointed by President William Ruto.

Since January 2018, Balala has served as Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, and he has played an important role in boosting tourism growth and stability in Kenya and the African regional tourism sector.
He was in charge of developing, launching, and implementing the National Wildlife Strategy 2030, a roadmap for transforming wildlife conservation in Kenya, in addition to launching and implementing the Wildlife Policy 2021.

Balala is the Chairman of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for Africa and was named Africa Investor’s Best Tourism Minister in 2009.
The FFI is the world’s oldest international wildlife conservation organization, with headquarters in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
