Former Wendy Waeni’s manager Joe Mwangi detained for 5 days

Former Wendy Waeni’s manager Joe Mwangi will be detained for 5 working days at Kilimani Police station to allow investigations.

Mwangi was arrested yesterday and presented to court today under a miscellaneous application which sought to detain the suspect for 7 days.
The DCI stated in the application that Joe Mwangi is alleged to have forged a letter purporting it to be genuine from the CS for Interior Fred Matiang’i and that the email was send to Wendy Waeni’s mother,Magdalene Syombua who is the complainant in the matter.
The DCI further stated that Joe threatened the complainant with unknown consequences after Wendy Waeni, a gymnastic,shared her story on national television accusing her former manager of neglect even after travelling all over world for paid performances.
DCI told the court that the purported forged letter and electronic gadgets used had been taken for forensic examination and the results were not yet ready. 
They also stated that other suspects in the matter have not yet been arrested and recovery of all exhibits had not yet been done citing that if the suspect is released he may interfere with witnesses. 
Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi ruled that the suspect be detained for 5 working days to allow police to complete investigations.
