Police in Kilifi County have arrested four suspects and recovered stolen property following a targeted operation in Mtwapa Township on September 17, 2025.
According to authorities, the operation was launched by officers from Mtwapa Police Station after a report of theft was made. Acting on leads, officers raided the Majengo area on the outskirts of Mtwapa, where they apprehended one suspect.
The suspect led police to a scrap metal yard, where a search uncovered assorted spanners, workshop tools, and a roll of barbed wire suspected to have been stolen. Three more suspects were arrested at the scene.
Police confirmed that all four suspects are in custody pending processing and arraignment. The recovered items have been secured as exhibits at the station.
The National Police Service reiterated its commitment to fighting crime, pledging to continue similar operations across the region to recover stolen property, apprehend offenders, and improve public safety.
