
Two fraud suspects were today morning arraigned and charged at a Nairobi a court. – By Meshack Makau.
Eileen Barbra Alouch, Alias Kethline and Sydney Kiptoo Koech were Before Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku. The duo was charged on two different counts.
According to the charge sheets, Eileen and Sydney on diverse dates obtained Ksh. 855,000 and Ksh. 1,750,000 from Zuberi Khali Mutie in Eastleigh and Shell Petrol Station Lang’ata Road respectively.
On January 11, 2021 at Co-operative bank Eastleigh branch, the two were alleged to have procured the said amount of money by purporting to have secured a tender for the complainant with The United Nations.
Ms. Mutie was to supply Lankhost Tag Ropes for The United Nations project services dubbed UNOPS.
Eileen and Sydney faced the other charge of acquiring Ksh. 1,750,000 from Zuberi on January 19, 2021, at Shell Petrol Station Lang’ata Road.
The said money was professed to be for the tender of supplying Lanhhost Tag Ropes for The United Nations.
The accused however pleaded not guilty of the charges and were released on Ksh. 500,000 bond with an alternative Ksh. 300,000 cash bail.
