Woman Who Drowned With A Kiambu Businessman Identified

The body of Fridah Warau Kamuyu, 22, of Mathioya, Murang'a County, had been marked as unclaimed at Nairobi City Mortuary

A woman who died alongside a man after the car they were in crashed into a dam in Juja, Kiambu County, has been identified by her family.

The body of Fridah Warau Kamuyu, 22, of Mathioya, Murang’a County, had been marked as unclaimed at Nairobi City Mortuary since January 18, when the incident occurred.

It wasn’t until Thursday, January 26 — exactly eight days after the tragic incident — that the deceased’s family showed up at the city mortuary and identified the body as theirs.

Mr. Titus Kiiru, a 39-year-old Kiambu businessman, died alongside Kamuyu.

On the fateful day, the two are said to have been in a Nissan X-trail vehicle that they had packed near the dam’s edge, which is a popular hangout spot for revelers.

The vehicle, however, would plunge into the dam under mysterious circumstances around 7 p.m.
