From France: Crystal Palace ‘agreement in principle’ with Aston Villa for Evann GuessandBy Sport Witness

What the player’s agent thinks about this particular transfer, on a loan plus option basis, is unclear at this stage.

Crystal Palace have reached an ‘agreement in principle’ with Aston Villa for the transfer of Evann Guessand, reports Santi Aouna. The update from France comes shortly after claims in the UK stated the Eagles were in talks for the forward.

Guessand has been in and out of the transfer mill during January.

The 24-year-old was dragged into the mix as Aston Villa worked to sign Tammy Abraham from Beşiktaş. As far as the Turkish media were concerned, the attacker had been offered to Beşiktaş as part payment for Abraham.

The Frenchman’s agent then rubbished that plan.

“Guessand will definitely stay at Aston Villa. We have no intention of going anywhere, 10000%,” the agent was said to have told the Turkish media.

However, Guessand has popped up a few times since, and it would now appear Aston Villa are open to sending him to Crystal Palace. Santi Aouna’s claims come quickly on the back of the UK reports.

What the player’s agent thinks about this particular transfer, on a loan plus option basis, is unclear at this stage.

Earlier on Thursday, Sport Witness covered claims from Norway which stated Crystal Palace and Wolves had reached an agreement for Jørgen Strand Larsen. Whether Guessand would be in addition to the Wolves player, or instead of, is unclear at this stage.
