Gachagua Breaks Silence on Reports of Joining New Party

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has vehemently denied reports that he has acquired a new political party.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Gachagua described the report as false and malicious.

“This one-sided false story is laced with innuendos and malice,” he stated.

Gachagua’s remarks follow a report from a local daily claiming he has acquired a new party.

He accused the publication of acting in bad faith with an intention to damage his reputation.

“Associating His Excellency the Deputy President with another political party can only have been done in bad faith, with the sole intention of undermining His Excellency’s role as the Deputy Party leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party,” stated Njeri Rugene, Head of DPCS.

Gachagua asserted that the article breaches the principles of good journalism, which require objectivity, balance, and fairness.

He also demanded an apology from the publication.

“In this regard, we demand a retraction of this fabricated article and an apology with the same prominence,” the statement read.
