Gachagua Gives Komarock Pupils Sh300,000 To Hold Party After Exams

    Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has offered to donate Ksh.300,000 to Komarock Primary School in Embakasi, Nairobi, for a students’ farewell party after the current national examinations conclude on Wednesday.

    Gachagua promised to give the money when he visited the school on Tuesday to monitor the progress of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations.

    “After you are through with your exams, I will give the headteacher 300,000 shillings so that after the exams you can come and have a bash to say farewell,” the DP told candidates.

    He also promised to give an additional Ksh.100,000 to the school’s 32 teachers for doing a good job of preparing the students.

    “We will also not leave the teachers behind, they have also done a very good job. I will leave 100,000 for them so that they too can celebrate a bit,” said Gachagua.

    On Tuesday, KCPE and KPSEA exams began their second day. Over 2.5 million candidates in Kenya are taking their Grade Six and Class Eight exams.

    Of the 2, 531, 785 candidates, 1,244, 188 are taking their KCPE exams while 1, 287,597 are sitting the maiden KPSEA exams since the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
