Following President William Ruto’s recent visit to Ruaraka, chaos erupted as gangs looted shops, attacked traders, and later turned their attention to motorists stranded in traffic along Thika Superhighway.

According to reports, groups of armed criminals stormed various businesses, ransacking shops and robbing traders of their goods.

The gangs then moved towards the highway, where they targeted vehicles stuck in traffic, breaking side mirrors and stealing valuables from passengers.

In response, law enforcement launched a crackdown, arresting several suspects linked to the looting and robberies.

Among those taken into custody were Jared Omari, Darious Nyaga, Mike Mwangi, and Kelvin Odhiambo, who were allegedly part of a group of ten individuals involved in the attacks.

Police have since intensified efforts to track down the remaining suspects.

Speaking at the opening of Mbaraki Police Station in Mombasa, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja assured the public that security forces were actively hunting those responsible.

This latest surge in criminal activity follows a wave of similar incidents in Nairobi, raising concerns over public safety.

Authorities have urged business owners and residents to remain vigilant as investigations continue.
