General Ogolla Named Chief Of Defense Forces

President William Ruto has named Lt. General Francis Omondi Ogolla as the new Chief of Defence Forces, succeeding General Robert Kariuki Kibochi, whose tenure has expired.

General Ogolla was the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF) until his appointment was announced on Friday.

General Kibochi is retiring after 44 years in the military.

President Ruto appointed National Defence University Vice Chancellor Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi to replace Gen. Ogolla as VCDF.

Major General Said Farah was named Vice Chancellor of the National Defence University.

Brigadier David Kipkemboi Keter has been promoted to Major General and named Assistant Chief of Defence Forces Personnel and Logistics (ACDF P&L).

Brigadier Stephen James Mutuku was promoted to Major General and appointed as Senior Directing Staff (Army) at the National Defence College by the Head of State.

Brigadier John Maison Nkoimo has been promoted to Major General and named Commandant of the Joint Command Staff College (JCSC).

Brigadier Abdulkadir Mohammed Burje was promoted to Major General and appointed Director Military Intelligence (DMI), while Brigadier Paul Owuor Otieno, also promoted to Major General, was named Managing Director of Kenya Shipyards Limited.
