George Natembeya, the governor of Trans-Nzoia County, has offered his condolences to the families of those who had lost loved ones in banditry attacks.
The governor was adamant that putting people’s lives first and re-establishing peace were both necessary.
“There comes a time in life when we must prioritize human life, and my hope is that peace will be restored as soon as possible,” said Natembeya.
Additionally, he asked the security agencies preparing for the disarmament exercise to assess the situation critically.
He urged them to take steps to ensure that people involved in cattle rustling and banditry have access to alternate food sources and sources of income.
