Four people, including a 16-year-old girl, were killed in a Russian missile strike near Ukraine’s port city of Odesa, marking the fourth attack on the Black Sea coastal region in five days.Â
The victims were living and working at a mushroom farm in a two-story building that was struck by Russian forces, officials reported.
Odesa regional head Oleh Kiper confirmed the deaths and revealed that Russian attacks had killed 13 people in just two days, following an earlier assault on a grain ship in the port.
This latest strike is part of Russia’s intensified campaign against Ukraine’s grain export infrastructure.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba reported that Russia had conducted 60 attacks over the past three months, damaging nearly 300 port facilities and killing or wounding 79 people.
Kiper accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilian vessels to disrupt Ukraine’s economy and deter international trade.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s prosecutor-general has launched criminal proceedings following the death of journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna, who died in Russian detention.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned her death, calling it a “heavy blow” and emphasized the urgent need to free Ukrainians held captive by Russia.
As the war drags on, Ukrainian forces continue to face fierce battles in eastern regions while retaliating with strikes on Russian-occupied Crimea.
