Kiambu Politician In Husband’s Murder Freed On Bail

Police believe Chania is the prime suspect in the brutal murder of her husband, a contractor in Rwanda.

Gladys Chania, a Kiambu politician and the main suspect in her husband George Mwangi’s murder, has been released on a cash bail of Ksh 1 million pending the hearing and determination of her case.

Maurice Mbugua, Chania’s co-accused, was also released on similar bail terms.

On October 12, 2022, Mwangi’s body was discovered in Kieni Forest, wrapped in a polythene bag and buried beneath a pile of cartons.
