A new poll shows that if elections were held today, Isiolo residents would vote for governor candidate Godana Doyo, who is running on an independent ticket.
According to the TIFA poll, Doyo, an independent candidate, is the most popular candidate with 45% followed by Abdi Guyo, Nairobi County Majority Leader of the Jubilee Party, with 34%.
Former EACC boss Halakhe Dida of the ODM party comes in second with 4%, followed by Hussein Tene of the UDA party with 2%.
In the region, 11% of voters are undecided, while 2% of respondents do not support any candidate.
In terms of political coalition support, TIFA discovered that Azimio la Umoja has the most support at 39%, followed by Kenya Kwanza at 35%, while 19% of the respondents said they didn’t know.
Raila Odinga of Azimio leads the Presidential race with 50%, followed by William Ruto with 42%.
George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party came in third place with 3%.
In the senator race, Fatuma Adana Dullo, the current senator running on the Jubilee party, has 47%, Nuh Mohamed Ibrahim has 26%, and Hussein Golicha Roba of NARC Kenya has 4%.
Ken Mutuma Kaaria of the Devolution Empowerment Party and Lokitela Ikiara each received 1% each.
In terms of political parties, UDA has 32% of the vote, while Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has 27%.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party came in third with 22%, followed by George Wajackoyah’s Roots Party with 1%.
According to the poll, 13% of respondents do not support any party, while 3% are undecided.
The research included 1,024 residents and was conducted between July 5 and 6.
The interviews were conducted over the phone.
The margin of error for the poll was +/- 4.7%.
