Gor Mahia to Man United Fans: Keep Your Red Rags at Home!

A Gor Mahia fan group has made a cheeky but firm appeal to their fans ahead of their next FKF Premier League clash: Kindly stop showing up in Manchester United jerseys—this isn’t Old Trafford.

In a hilarious Facebook post that took thinly veiled shots at the English giants, the 20-time Kenyan champions asked their Red Devils-loving supporters to leave the “clashing colours” at home and embrace the sacred green and white.

“We know you’re supporting the ‘best’ club in the world right now. A club chasing a double this season—just like K’Ogalo,” the post quipped. “Please don’t keep reminding us.”

The fashion police weren’t the only ones out in full force on Saturday.

Gor Mahia’s title chase hit a pothole after a last-gasp Sofapaka goal snatched a 1-1 draw at the Dandora Stadium—and some fans didn’t take it well. Chaos erupted in the stands, with a few supporters doing their best impression of peak Fergie-time fury.

Adding spice to the drama, head coach Sinisa Mihic—currently serving a touchline ban for his previous touch of madness—stormed out of the stadium, clearly unimpressed with the proceedings.

The result leaves Gor third on 47 points, two behind leaders Police FC, who’ve played a game more. Tusker FC, perched on 48, could leapfrog them all when they play Nairobi City Stars on Sunday.

As the title race heats up, one thing is clear—if you’re heading to a Gor match, better pack green… and maybe some nerves of steel.
