The Government of Kenya has released Kshs 8.7bn to improve the lives of the beneficiaries of the Inua Jamii Programme.”

There are approximately 1,092,000 million beneficiaries who shall be benefiting from the program. Each of them, according to the Ministry, has successfully opened bank accounts with the Service Provider Banks through which their payments will be made.

“The payroll has been cleaned up to exclude the beneficiaries who have passed on and any other undeserving persons who benefited from this program before. Each will be paid for the months of July-August September-October.” Said Permanent Secretary Nelson Marwa.

He also added that the money shall be in the beneficiaries’ accounts for six months which they shall be able to access, without crowding as they used to before.

The payment is scheduled to begin from Monday, November 18, 2019 to allow beneficiaries to be able to access their money for meeting their needs.

“Any persons who are in the categories of the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Programme but will not be benefiting should be ready for the next retargeting of the beneficiaries to ensure that they are successfully registered in the Programme.” Concluded Marwa.
