Government revives construction of stalled Mau Mau road

President William Ruto’s commitment to reviving the stalled 200km Mau Mau roads project is taking shape, with significant progress on the Kamahendu-Gatamahio-Wangoi Road in Kiambu County.

In just four and a half months, 8km have been built, with 4km fully graveled and ready for tarmacking.

The 20km road will boost trade, ease transport, and improve access to farms, markets, and essential services.

Beyond economic benefits, the project also preserves the historical significance of the Mau Mau routes, enhancing connectivity through tea-growing zones and conservation areas.
