Government To Extend Inter Faith Council Term

The government has said it will extend the term of the Inter-Faith Council until December 31, 2021.

In a meet up after on religion and the state, Interior CS Dr. Fred Matianfg’i said the extension was in recognition of the success recorded in the war against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Religious leaders & faith communities have been the most compliant with COVID19 containment measures.” The CS said.

The council that is an umbrella of religious groups in Kenya, was formed to sensitise and consider measures against COVID-19 among the faithful.

Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria heads the council that consists of christians, Muslims and Hindu religions groups.
