Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has presided over the disbursement of KES 23,387,000 bursary funds to needy college and polytechnic students.
The fund, under the Elimu Fund Bursary Program, was released in a colorful Likoni Sub-county event.
Governor Joho said the Bursary program is inline with the government commitment to avail skilled education by supporting needy students in completing their studies.
The fund targets over 2,453 needy students in colleges, polytechnics, universities, and also technical and secondary schools.
In this 1st phase, Mombasa County has set aside kES 150 million with an intention of increasing the amount.
“This we believe will help in coping with the ever-increasing demand from students,” Joho said.

The governor will roll out the same program in Makadara grounds.
