Governor Kawira Calls For Ceasefire With Bitter MCAs

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has asked Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) for a truce following their disagreement on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Mwangaza called for a truce in Meru on Thursday, encouraging MCAs to negotiate with her. during the Mashujaa Day celebrations in the county.

According to Mwangaza, the MCAs should focus their efforts on partnering with her on county projects that benefit Meru inhabitants.

“My hand is open and my government is open for you. I ask that all leaders unclench their fists. Let’s work together, let’s move forward together as we make our people happy because Meru must be happy.”

This comes a day after Meru MCAs staged a walkout against the first-time Governor during her maiden address to the County Assembly, alleging that she was dismissing and ignoring their demands.
