Governor Kingi Flags Off KEMSA Medical Supplies

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has flagged off a Sh176 Million medical consignment, which is part of the Sh393 Million worth of supplies requested from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).

The Governor said that the County was steadily revamping the health sector by setting up the relevant infrastructure, equipping our hospitals, and ensuring they are adequately stocked with medicinal drugs and other medical supplies, all for the benefit of Wananchi at the grassroots level.

“The medical consignment we flagged off today consists of Pharmaceuticals, Non-Pharmaceuticals, Laboratory and Specialized products (Orthopedic implants, Renal, Linen, Dentals, Equipment’s & Radiology products) and will go a long way in availing medicine at over 150 health facilities including 6 Hospitals and 144 Rural Health facilities, the Governor said.

Governor Kingi further said that his administration has put in place stringent measures to ensure these supplies get to the intended facilities and benefit the targeted residents.

“We have put all the mechanisms in place to make sure that all the medicine reaches every intended facility and benefits the community,” he added.

He was joined during the occasion by Ms. Leah Gichoya , the Sales and Marketing Officer- KEMSA, the County Executive for Health Services Charles Dadu, and Chief Officer at the Governor’s office Ms. Amina Nassor.
