Governor Mutula Eyes Expanded NYS Partnership to Bolster Infrastructure in Makueni

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has announced plans to strengthen collaboration with the National Youth Service (NYS) in a bid to accelerate infrastructure development across the county.

Speaking at the NYS Headquarters in Nairobi on Wednesday, Governor Mutula and NYS Commandant General James Tembur held high-level discussions focused on expanding the scope of joint projects, particularly in road construction, dam building, and the development of modern market sheds.

The talks come in the wake of the successful completion of road projects in eight wards within Makueni, executed with NYS support. The governor praised NYS for its precision, efficiency, and professionalism, emphasizing that his administration is keen to extend the partnership to improve water access and spur local economic growth.

“We are committed to leveraging the capacity of NYS to deliver impactful infrastructure that uplifts the lives of our people,” Governor Mutula stated.

General Tembur hailed the partnership as a model for effective Government-to-Government collaboration, underscoring NYS’s readiness to support Makueni’s broader development agenda.

Governor Mutula was accompanied by key members of his executive team, including Finance CECM Damaris Kavoi, Transport CECM Eng. Peter Mumo, and Water CECM Eng. John Kieti.
