Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok was the talk of the town in recent political times, when he publicly clashed with ODM leader Raila Odinga during a BBI tour to the massive county. – By Gerald Gekara.
Speaking at a radio talk show, Governor Nanok accused ODM of sidelining Turkana County despite Nanok amassing 60 percent of the vote to the party in 2017.
He further said the move to nominate a person from another county to the Turkana county assembly was ill-motived, as it belonged to a member of Turkana county.
“We even had a name for the person who was to be nominated as MCA by ODM. The minorities are to date very unhappy by the decision made by the party and our efforts to intervene at the national office did not bear fruit,” said Nanok.

However, Raila Odinga’s allies accused Nanok of joining the Deputy President William Ruto and appearing to sideline ODM’s agendas in the troubled northern region.
The rebellious display excited the deputy President’s team, with some welcoming him to join the ‘hustler nation.’
