Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has been summoned to court to explain why he disobeyed a court order blocking the relocation of Matatus to the Greenpark Terminus.
The summons was issued by Justice Hedwig Ong’udi following Matatu SACCOS application demanding that Governor Sakaja explains to the Court why he defied Judicial orders.
He stated that even after issuing an order halting the implementation of the move, the county proceeded with the move.
The court also extended the order and suspended the county public notice for the relocation of pick-up and drop-off points from the CBD to Green Park.
Companies that provide transportation to Nyanza, Western, North Rift, South Rift, and Central Rift are affected.
The matatu Saccos had filed a court petition to stop the move to Green Park Terminus, claiming that the directive was invalid.
