Governors Conference Capped At 3000

The Council of Governors (CoG) has set a 3,000-person attendance limit for the 7th and last Annual Devolution Conference, in accordance with coronavirus containment guidelines.

The Council stated on Thursday that 1,000 development partners will be among the 3,000 participants.

The Ministry of Health will verify the immunization status of all attendees at the conference, which will take place from November 23 to 26 at Makueni Boys’ High School in Makueni County.

The host county also claimed that it had 11 isolation facilities with 80 HDU beds and 9 ICU beds to enable emergency response.

“The Ministry of Health and the Council are working towards ensuring strict adherence of the COVID-19 protocols. In this regard, strict containment measures will be adhered to including screening of the COVID-19 certificates at the conference,” Keter said.

The CoG had started a tree-planting campaign, which saw 1,999,999 trees planted in Makueni, Machakos, Kitui, Embu, and Kajiado, according to Keter.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to plant a tree during the summit.
