The Public Service Commission (PSC) has initiated the process of replacing former government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna.
Oguna stepped down from the position in October 2022 to serve as the Chief of Staff for Siaya Governor James Orengo.
According to a public notice, dated Tuesday, February 7, the next government spokesperson will receive a monthly salary of Ksh 970,000, inclusive of a basic pay ranging from Ksh 292,000 to Ksh 576,000, as well as numerous benefits, such as house and entertainment allowances, a leave allowance, and medical cover, which total more than Ksh 400,000.
To qualify for the position, applicants must be Kenyan citizens, hold a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communication and Media Studies, Social Sciences or qualifications in similar fields from a recognized university, and have worked as a media or communication practitioner for at least 15 years.
“The applicant must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the national development goals, policies, and objectives, including the government’s transformation agenda,” PSC added.
Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications online through the PSC website by February 27, 2023.
The applications should be made online through the commission’s website www.publicservice.go.ke or through the jobs portal www.psckjobs.go.ke.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide original copies of their National ID cards, academic professional certificate and transcripts during interviews.
They will also need to give the original copy of the letter of appointment.
