Gov’t Releases Ksh.2 Billion Towards Inua Jamii Fund

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has released Ksh.2,095,360,000 to beneficiaries enrolled in the Inua Jamii programme and another Ksh.6,118,000 to those enrolled in the Nutrition Improvement through Cash and Health Education (NICHE) programme.

According to the ministry, the funds were released on Friday, December 1, and payments will begin on Monday, December 4.

The funds will be credited to the accounts of 1,044,621 Inua Jamii beneficiaries, with each receiving Ksh. 2000 for November.

President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the Inua Jamii programme in 2015 as one of his administration’s channels to combat poverty and assist the underprivileged in society.

The programme has since been adopted by the Kenya Kwanza government, and a presidential directive issued in July 2023 enabled beneficiaries to receive payments on a monthly basis.
