A middle-aged lady was arraigned at Milimani Law courts facing charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.
According to the charge sheet, Milka Kibui Maigachu on November 30, 2021, in Nairobi with intend to defraud obtained from Prisca Wangithi Kingori a sum of Ksh 400,000 by falsely pretending she would facilitate her husband to work and study in the United States Of America.
She however denied the charges before Hon. Caroline Muthoni, her defense counsel pleaded for a reasonable bond term stating that she is of simple means and high bond terms would be punitive to the accused.
The court released her on a bond of Ksh 200,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000.
