Guardrail saves a supermetro bus from crashing into a ditch

The guardrail acted as a critical safety barrier, redirecting the vehicle's momentum and preventing it from plunging into a deep ditch or crossing into oncoming hazards.

In a significant road safety incident, a Super Metro bus was prevented from crashing into a ditch after it hit a guardrail while swerving to avoid a high-speed collision.

According to official communication from Super Metro Management on Facebook, the driver hit the guardrail while evading a Toyota Prado that was speeding from Brookside Drive and attempting to join the Nairobi Expressway from the opposite direction.

The guardrail acted as a critical safety barrier, redirecting the vehicle’s momentum and preventing it from plunging into a deep ditch or crossing into oncoming hazards.

While the barrier prevented a catastrophic fall, several passengers and the bus conductor sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The incident was recorded by Expressway CCTV and is being handled by the Kenya Police, NTSA, and KeNHA.
