Haiti Delegation To Arrive In Kenya For Police Deployment Progress

A Haitian delegation is scheduled to visit Kenya before Kenyan police are dispatched to the Caribbean nation to help combat gangs terrorising the local population.

This information was revealed during a meeting between Haitian authorities and a Kenyan delegation on December 5, 2023 in Port-au-Prince.

The Haitian delegation’s visit is part of the preparations for the controversial Multinational Mission to Support Security (MSS), which the United Nations approved two months ago.

Monica Juma, Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Noor Gabow, and others from other government departments lead the Kenyan team.

On the team were representatives from the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs’ offices.

Officials said the team would return to the country this weekend. Kenya plans to open a consulate in Haiti, among other things.

According to other officials, the visit will be the final step before the first team is sent to Haiti.
