Harambee Stars failed to travel to Mauritius for the four-nation invitational tournament as planned on Saturday morning.
According to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), the flight was canceled owing to the lack of flight to the Island Nation.
As a result, FKF Secretary General Barry Otieno said the team will play only two matches instead of three when they travel on Monday.
“Due to FIFA regulations on player rest days between matches,” Otieno explained, “the change in itinerary also means that Kenya will now play two matches instead of the planned three.”
The tournament begins on Sunday with hosts Mauritius, Pakistan, and Djibouti competing.
The Stars had their final training session before the rescheduled flight on Friday morning, with head coach Engin Firat saying he would use the tournament to build a strong team in preparation for the return of competitive matches later this year.
