Dr. Nakhumicha S. Wafula, the cabinet secretary for health, is now in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.
The conference will center on these crucial concerns for Kenya and the rest of Africa: health financing and maintaining action to eradicate AIDS and related communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Two significant discussions were held on the summit’s first day to discuss the health agendas for Kenya and Africa.
AIDS and other related infectious and non-communicable diseases were discussed at the inaugural meeting, which was organized by PEPFAR, the NEPAD Agency, and USAmbPEPFAR.
The forum emphasized the significance of making health investments and raising funds to attain universal health care.
The Prime Minister of Lesotho, the AUC, AfDB Group, and FAO co-hosted the second summit, which was a high-level gathering on “Progress and Achievements in Addressing Malnutrition in Africa.”
During this discussion, the difficulties that still need to be solved and the progress gained in combating hunger in Africa were discussed. The conference underlined the necessity for cooperation among African nations to fight malnutrition and provide food security.
African leaders have a huge opportunity to address and create answers to the continent’s health problems during the AU summit.
The conference offers an opportunity to look at long-term solutions for the pressing concerns of health financing and maintaining efforts to end AIDS and related infectious and non-communicable diseases.
The conference’s debates and conclusions will aid in directing policies and activities that will enhance the health and welfare of people in Africa.
