Health Ministry Virtual Event abandoned after cyber attack

A Virtual event held by the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe was abrubtly halted after a suspected cyberattack moments after the Thursday, February 4, 2021 meeting. – By Gerald Gekara. 

The meeting was to commemorate the World Cancer Day, and the Health Ministry had invited several international health bodies to the meeting.

According to sources within the ministry, a stranger, whos profile picture depicted the German Swastikas’ emblem, was added into the meeting. However, the user disrupted the meeting by scribbling obscene drawings.

The man hurled insults, and shared pornographic content.

The virtual meeting was ended prematurely after the rude interruption. The Ministry however came up with a more secure link and resumed the program.
