Nairobi High Court has ordered Nation Media Group (NMG) to remove the controversial expose; ‘COVID-19 millionaires’ from its social media platforms.
The damning investigative report will be offline, pending hearing and determination of a case filed by Megascope Limited.
According to the courts, Megascope sued NMG and Journalist Dennis Okari for adversely mentioning the company to the multi-billion shillings scandal that plagues the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
Through its director Richard Ngatia, the company moved to court alleging that the report adversely put the firm out of business, and tarnished their reputation.
According to the expose, Megascope was allegedly contracted to clear medical supplies donated by Chinese billionaire Jac Ma.
However, the donations were reported to have dissappeared in transit, with part of the Jac Ma donations being shipped to neighbouring countries for sale.
KEMSA has since refuted the claims.
The case will be mentioned on October 22.
