High stakes at Kasarani as Gor Mahia face struggling Kariobangi Sharks

By Amos Murumba

Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will be aiming to strengthen their title push when they face Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The champions go into the 4pm kick-off trailing league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz by a single point and could move two points clear at the top with victory, depending on other results.

Gor Mahia have remained firmly in contention thanks to a consistent run that has kept them within touching distance of the summit as the season takes shape.

Kariobangi Sharks, meanwhile, find themselves bottom of the SportPesa Premier League standings with 12 points and under pressure to reverse their fortunes.

The Sharks have struggled for results and will be seeking a positive outcome to revive their campaign.

The match brings together two sides at opposite ends of the table, with Gor Mahia focused on the title race and Sharks fighting to climb out of trouble.
