The visitors struck early in Florence. David de Gea was called upon to deny Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s stinging effort, but Napoli soon forced the breakthrough. Napoli stretched their advantage soon after the restart. Matteo Politano’s corner was poorly defended, allowing Beukema to bundle home from close range. Luca Ranieri pulled one back with a powerful strike 11 minutes from time, but the champions never looked in danger of surrendering control.
