Højlund and Beukema Strike on debut as Napoli Sweep Past Fiorentina

Napoli’s title defence gathered pace with a 3–1 victory away to Fiorentina, as Rasmus Højlund and Sam Beukema both marked their debuts with goals. Kevin De Bruyne also found the net, ensuring Antonio Conte’s side climbed to the top of Serie A with three wins from three.

The visitors struck early in Florence. David de Gea was called upon to deny Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s stinging effort, but Napoli soon forced the breakthrough. Frank Anguissa was tripped by Pietro Comuzzo inside the area, the penalty confirmed after a VAR review. De Bruyne calmly sent de Gea the wrong way from the spot.

Højlund, on loan and seeking to revive his scoring touch in Italy after injury setbacks, doubled Napoli’s lead with a precise finish off the right hand post. De Bruyne almost added a third before the break, while Moise Kean wasted Fiorentina’s best chance with a wayward header.

Napoli stretched their advantage soon after the restart. Matteo Politano’s corner was poorly defended, allowing Beukema to bundle home from close range. Luca Ranieri pulled one back with a powerful strike 11 minutes from time, but the champions never looked in danger of surrendering control.
